Growing Together

Um... thank you.

Thank you all- so much!- for your beautiful, soul-filling-with-goodness comments about my engagement. This may sound strange, but I've missed you. I have. I've missed you all. Seeing your names and words moved my heart and made me wish I'd never stepped into the shadows and away from blog-light. It made me feel like we were right back where we were in days gone by- planting gardens, working on a house, making things, cooking things.

It felt happy. I felt happy. Thank you again.

I was telling Josh, the incomprehensibly good guy I'm marrying, about you all the other day. He volunteered to introduce himself to you (which is so telling of the friendly, fantastic fella he is, huh?). I agreed that he should soon. So while he's thinking of what he'd like to say, we'll chat.

Did you notice my fused-together summer squash up there? I planted them one day as Josh was mowing the yard of the house we'll soon share. I thought it so fitting that the first squash we picked was a grown-together, distinct-but-joined one. It's as if the wonder and closeness we've been given has seeped into the very ground of our lives. So beautiful, isn't it?

What God has joined together and all... ;)

But enough about me. What's new with you? How's your garden growing? Talk soon.

Love muchly- Brin

Oh how awesome. I love those little signs of confirmation. Your wedding is going to be one of the most beautiful in simplicity and rustic loveliness. I do hope you share it all with us. I still miss Freeman House.

We've missed you, too! If I was given a choice of having one blog to read, Messy, Thrilling Life would be it! Glad you're back!

And I have missed you, too! Very much. I can't wait to meet Josh and hear more about what God is doing in your lives. I hope you will keep us up to day with your doings because we love you, my friend.

My garden isn't doing so well this year. My sweetheart retired last fall and he decided to do the garden this year. He's been far too busy with much-needed long-overdue projects and the garden hasn't faired too well. His hot pepper plants are prospering! So, he is working hard to add an automatic sprinkler system to the garden beds and replant things this fall as soon as he can.

Hugs,
~Adrienne~

Your garden appears to be much more productive than ours is this summer. Love the gift squash! So happy to read your blog. I no longer tend to my blog. Spend my days caring for a mother and adoring my grandchildren instead.

Life has seasons. Beginning your life with Josh will make your seasons sweeter. I know my past 36 years have been because of my love. God bless!

I love those little signs of confirmation too.

And, girl you have been so missed as well. Your blog is like no other for me, so please...don't stay away for so long. Can't wait to "meet" Josh. He must be a very special man. <3

My garden? Well, its all washed out. Everything in Georgia is. I try not to complain much because of the years of drought, and my beloved Lake Lanier looks wonderful. But our gardens have been challenged.

Please don't stay away that long again! :) I join everyone else in saying that your blog is one of my favorites!! Love the squash! Love even more that you found the right guy...you deserve it! Can't wait to "meet" Josh!

My garden is growing beautifully. I don't know if you will remember but I commented once or twice that we were creating my picket fence dream garden. Well we did!!! It is a little slice of heaven!! The only thing that is not prospering in my garden this year is the squash. I seem to have powdery mildew. It's been an unusually wet season so we'll see how everything else does, especially the tomatoes. Beautiful foliage but I'm afraid of blossom end rot because of the wetness.

Oh, one more thing, we are in the middle of an international adoption!!! We were matched with a sweet little four year old girl in March and are currently working our way through all the red tape of two countries. We have two son's in their twenties so this should be "messy and thrilling" for us! :)

I'll be watching for your next post...or maybe Josh's.

I'm SO happy for your Brin! I've "followed" you all along the way. Rejoiced with you, mourned with you. God is good!

As for the garden this year? A new baby has left the garden a bit neglected. It grows but not as well as in the past. people who drive by have stopped and asked my husband if everything is all right since they haven't seen me out and about as much. lol.
